When I’m playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 online, I frequently find myself thinking “What was that guy thinking?” Despite how long the game has been out there are still a lot of people who just aren’t very good at the game. I’m not here to point fingers or call you a noob, it took me a long time to pick up the various tips that I needed to play well, and I’m here to share those. Moded accounts available at gta-v-mods.com are another way through which you can improve your game level however you still have to invest a lot of time to improve your gameplay. Modern Warfare 2 was my first FPS and it was a painful learning process and I’d like to help others avoid this.
The biggest mistake I see people making is being far too aggressive or camping far too much. There is a sweet spot that you need to get into in order to rock the other team’s world. Generally, when I’m playing I defend an area. What I mean by that is if I’m playing domination I’ll lock down a piece between two of the capture points or hold off a road that they frequent. What I don’t mean by that is hiding in a corner with an AA-12 and shooting when someone comes in. That plan might work for a bit but eventually, you will eat an RPG from someone out for revenge. You need to constantly be moving between a couple of areas you can bunker down in, so the enemy doesn’t know where you are at all times.
Another big mistake I see players making is not checking their corners. If someone is waiting in the corner of a room you need to see them or they will definitely blast you. You also need to be aware if someone is approaching you from the side.
One more mistake that I frequently see is players who don’t make use of the game sound. Unless the enemy is using Ninja you can hear if they are walking up to knife you. It’s important that you aren’t caught off guard. With a good headset like the Astro A40s, you can also pinpoint where someone is shooting from. It helps if you are able to discern the general direction you are being shot at from so you can come up with a plan of action to take them down.
Yet another mistake I see players making is not using cover well. If you are moving to a new position you should avoid running in open areas. I know it sounds like common sense but a ton of people just charge straight down open paths only to get riddled with bullets. That’s obviously something you would like to avoid. You should always move from cover to cover, occasionally stopping to see if there are any enemies lurking about.
With all that in mind, I hope this enhances your Call of Duty experience. If you follow my advice you will see an increase in your Kill/Death ratio. Have fun “owning” the other team!
